KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 4 — Former Perak head coach Steve Darby will take over from Bojan Hodak to manage the Kelantan squad next season.
Kelantan Football Association (Kafa) advisor Tan Sri Annuar Musa said Darby had agreed to sign a two-year contract with the Red Warriors and will start work on Nov 15.
“Our special thanks to Bojan for his service and we respect his decision for a change.
“Hopefully, the squad will be announced after this,” said Annuar in his Facebook site today.
Hodak who was appointed Kelantan coach in 2012 confirmed he would be making a shift next season but declined to say which team he would be managing.
On the performance of the Kelantan squad this season, Annuar said he was satisfied with their achievements even though he was disppointed with their failure to defend the Malaysia Cup championships.
Kelantan lost 0-1 to Pahang in the final at Shah Alam Stadium last night.
The Red Warriors who were triple champions in 2012, however, only managed to defend the FA Cup title this season after defeating Johor Darul Takzim 1-0 in the final on June 29 at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
In the Super League, the squad could only muster fourth place out of 12 teams with 36 points in 22 matches. – Bernama
