Datuk Seri Shazalli Ramly was formerly head of Celcom, then moved on to helm Axiata — Picture courtesy of CelcomDatuk Seri Shazalli Ramly was formerly head of Celcom, then moved on to helm Axiata — Picture courtesy of CelcomKUALA LUMPUR, March 21 — Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) today announced that Datuk Seri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly will be its new managing director and group chief executive officer (CEO) from May 1.

He replaces incumbent group CEO Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa, 56, who will be retiring on April 30.

“Tan Sri Zam is a true TM career man, from his first job right to the top position of the company. He left the company for a short time, but then re-joined the group and devoted his attention in bringing TM to where it is now,” TM chairman Tan Sri Datuk Seri Sulaiman Mahbob said in a company statement to Bursa Malaysia.

Shazalli, 55, is currently the regional CEO for Axiata Group Bhd’s South-East Asia operations. Prior to that, he was the CEO and director of Celcom Axiata Bhd.

TM also announced that Datuk Bazlan Osman, 53, its group chief financial officer, will be the deputy group CEO effective April 1 and will maintain his current position as executive director.

The statement added that Bazlan will remain as an appointed director of TM’s special shareholder, the Minister of Finance.
