KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 29 — Uber will be launched in Ipoh this February during the Chinese New Year season.
The popular ride-sharing service said that the Perak capital will be a “pop-up city”, where its services would be available the entire month.
“We know that many of you will be travelling back to your hometowns over this period, and Uber is here to provide you with a smarter mobility option,” Uber said in a statement today.
It however warned that availability may be limited in the initial stages as it begins operations in Ipoh.
The base fare will be RM 1.50, with a rate of RM 0.20 per minute and RM 0.60 per kilometre. The cancellation fee will be RM 5.00.
The ride-sharing service recently celebrated its second anniversary, and currently serves in the Klang Valley, Johor Bahru and Penang.
