JOHOR BARU, Oct 19 — Police today detained two men believed to have assaulted two workers of SAJ Holdings Sdn Bhd in an incident at a house in Jalan Air Hitam, Kampung Melayu, near Kulai yesterday.
Johor police chief Datuk Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd said the first suspect, aged 26, was nabbed at Jalan Indahputra, near here at about 2am while another suspect, aged 19, was detained at 3.45am at Kampung Melayu.
The arrests were made following a video recording of the two victims being physically assaulted by the two men which went viral on social media.
“In the 11.45am incident, the two suspects had attacked the complainant and his colleague who were assigned to cut off the water supply to a house,” he said in a statement here today.
Wan Ahmad Najmuddin said the suspects, believed to be the house owner’s sons, were not satisfied with the decision to cut off the water supply had attacked the victims physically and using a helmet as well as threaten them with a hoe.
Due to the incident, the victims suffered soft tissue injuries while the suspects would be remanded for four days beginning today, he added. — Bernama
