JOHOR BARU, Sept 22 — The police have rubbished a posting on a Facebook account that two children were kidnapped, murdered and their organs harvested here.
State police chief Datuk Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd said the claim, which went viral, was posted on the Facebook account of one Wan Ayuni.
He said the incident where the bodies were found on a riverbank and their internal organs removed did not happen in Johor.
“The police warned the public not to misuse the Internet applications by spreading false news which can create restlessness.
“It is an offence and can be penalised under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998,” he said in a statement here today. — Bernama
