Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said today the ministry had received complaints from passengers on uncomfortable seats and insufficient toilets in the business class.

The matter was discussed at the weekly meeting of the Cabinet yesterday, he said.

“I have instructed MAB to handle the complaints as soon as possible so that passenger comfort is assured and accorded priority,” he said to reporters after opening the second phase of the Mitsui Outlet Park shopping centre here.

MAB is scheduled to receive six of the A350-900 aircraft in stages on lease from Air Lease Corporation. MAB received its first Airbus A350-900XWB on Nov 30 last year.

The aircraft has 286 seats in three classes, with four seats in first class, 35 in business class and 247 in economy class.

Liow said MAB had not been given a time frame to solve the problem.

“It is up to MAB to address the issue, including by conducting an internal inquiry into the complaints,” he said. — Bernama
