GEORGE TOWN, Feb 15 — The Penang state government is kicking off its "I love Penang" campaign with an "I love Penang" logo contest and an "I love Penang" run.
State executive councillor Chow Kon Yeow who's in charge of the campaign, said the logo design contest starts today.
"The logo design must contain the tagline #untuknegerikita and I love Penang," he said when announcing the contest at the Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's office today.
The contest is open to all and deadline for submission is February 28.
Penang is also organising an "I love Penang" 7km run on March 12.
The run was announced three days ago and Lim said 3,000 participants have already signed up for it.
"We received very good response to this so those who wants to participate in the run, better register now because we only accept till 4,000 participants," he said.
The Penang state government launched the "I love Penang" campaign in response to federal minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor's suggestion to make Penang a federal territory.
