LONDON, July 30 ― A new travel itinerary has been created for art lovers, featuring sites that have been immortalised on canvas by the likes of Cézanne, Monet and Renoir.
Organised by British luxury retailer VeryFirstTo.com, the month-long trip starts in London where the couple will visit Westminster, depicted by John Turner as a crumbling mass of fire in one his signature pieces, “The Burning of the Houses of Lords and Commons”.
From there, the trip heads to different parts of France including Claude Monet’s home in Giverny, the inspiration behind his famous “Water Lilies” series, and the picturesque town of Collioure, France, source of inspiration for Henri Matisse.
Other stops include Canaletto’s (Giovanni Antonio Canal) Venice, Paul Gauguin’s Tahiti, Paul Klee’s Tunisia and Katsushika Hokusai’s Mount Fuji in Japan.
In all, guests will travel to 12 art-inspired destinations across six countries.
Guests will also receive six scarves inspired by the destinations, designed by boutique scarf brand Babooshka Boo.
Luxury hotel brand the Four Seasons also created an art-themed travel package for 2015 that will take guests on a whirlwind European vacation aboard a private jet.
Stops on the “Backstage with the Arts” tour include exclusive access to areas of the Duomo di Milano normally closed to the public, a special performance of “Don Giovanni” at the historic Estates Theatre in Prague, and a private tour of the St Isaac’s Cathedral in St Petersburg.
