Tunku Ismail who is also the Tunku Mahkota of Johor (TMJ) in a statement issued by the FAM said as the president of the FAM, he was ready to accept all the blame for the loss to North Korea at the i-mobile Stadiumm in Buriram and future defeats, if any.

TMJ is also expected to take drastic action after meeting FAM Technical Director Peter De Roo after a meeting, once the National squad under Nelo Vingada, returns from Bangkok.

“I will have a meeting with the Technical Director once the team returns home. We will make decisions that will see the National team move forward. All aspects will be taken into account,” said Tunku Ismail.

The National team has not registered a win in seven outings since a change in the FAM leadership in March as the National squad lost five and drew two matches.

Though the statistics do not favour Portugese coach Nelo Vingada’s credentials, there could be some reprieve if Malaysia can register a good result against North Korea in the second match at the same i-mobile Stadium in Buriram, Thailand on Monday. ― Bernama
