PETALING JAYA, Feb 6 — Champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) took over the summit from Selangor in the Malaysian Super League by defeating PKNP FC 3-0 today at Larkin Stadium.
Argentinian Jorge Pereyra Diaz opened the scoring with two minutes left before halftime.
In the second half JDT extended their lead by way of a Fadhli Shas bullet header.
Natxo Insa then made the three points safe in stoppage time.
In the other match, Kelantan squared off against Terengganu in the east coast derby at Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium.
The visitors came out of the blocks all guns blazing and took the lead in the seventh minute through Brazilian Gilberto Fortunato.
The home team fought back and was awarded a penalty in the 38th minute which was dispatched by South Korean import Do Dong-hyun for the Red Warriors’ first point of the season.
JDT will next play Kuala Lumpur away on Saturday, while PKNP travel to Kedah on Sunday.
Kelantan will next travel to Pahang on Saturday and Terengganu welcomes Selangor to Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah stadium on Saturday.
