Phil Lam and Gil Lee dub ‘Trolls’ in Cantonese. — Picture by Cinema OnlinePhil Lam and Gil Lee dub ‘Trolls’ in Cantonese. — Picture by Cinema OnlineKUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 — We’re not trolling you, upcoming animated movie Trolls will really be released in two different versions in our cinemas!

We have the usual English version, and then we have the Cantonese-dubbed version. Hong Kong stars Gil Lee and Phil Lam are voicing Poppy and Branch, respectively.

The princess of Trolls and paranoid Troll survivalist were originally voiced by Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake in the English version.

Of course, moviegoers might have anticipated this move as this is definitely not the first flick to hit our shore with a dubbed version. Others before this include the Tamil-dubbed Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Cantonese-dubbed Kung Fu Panda 3 and Bahasa Malaysia-dubbed Kabali.

Trolls Cantonese version will open on the same day as the English version this November 3. — Cinema Online
