LOS ANGELES, Sept 22 — Smurfette and pals set off across the Forbidden Forest in a new adventure debuting in cinemas from April 2017.

Demi Lovato stars as Smurfette in the English-language version of Smurfs: The Lost Village, where she's joined by Jack McBrayer (Clumsy Smurf), Dannuy Pudi (Brainy Smurf), Joe Manganiello (Hefty Smurf) and Mandy Patinkin (Papa Smurf) among others.

The voice cast are new to the film series, entirely replacing actors and actresses from recent live-action animated crossovers The Smurfs (2011) and The Smurfs 2 (2013) together make US$911 million (RM3.7 billion) on a US$215 million production budget.

Kelly Asbury, he of Sherk 2 and Gnomeo & Juliet, directs.

The teaser has been released in two slightly different flavours, a standard version intended for North American audiences and an International edition with a longer intro and animated subtitles. — AFP-Relaxnews
