LOS ANGELES, May 19 — Deadline reports that American actress Sandra Bullock will star in Cash Truck, a movie based on the 2004 French film Le Convoyeur, starring Jean Dujardin and Albert Dupontel.
Cash Truck is billed as an intense action-thriller exploring greed, hate and the dark heart of human nature.
Bullock will take the lead role as Alex, an American woman who, after falling on hard times, starts a new job in London with an armored car firm that was recently the target of a deadly heist.
The actress’s role resembles that played by Albert Dupontel in Nicolas Boukhrief’s production.
The French actor played Alexandre Demarre, a new recruit in a struggling cash-in-transit company about to be taken over by an American firm. His arrival and his mysterious attitude raise questions about his real intentions.
Since her success in Alfonso Cuaron’s 2014 Oscar-winner Gravity, Bullock has kept a low profile on the big screen.
The star — who won the Best Actress Oscar for her performance in The Blind Side — is, however, signed up to appear in Ocean’s Eight, an all-female spin-off of Steven Soderbergh’s trilogy.
She is set to play Debbie Ocean, sister of Danny Ocean (played by George Clooney in the original movies), who recruits a team of pro thieves to steal a coveted necklace in New York.
Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Rihanna, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina will join her on the cast of this latest Ocean’s adventure, which also stars Matt Damon and Damian Lewis.
The movie, directed by Gary Ross (Hunger Games) is slated for release in June 2018. — AFP-Relaxnews
