LOS ANGELES, Feb 17 — Nicole Kidman has finally confirmed her long-rumoured but never confirmed engagement to Lenny Kravitz.
In an interview with Net-A-Porter’s The Edit, the 49-year-old actress let slip that she was previously engaged to the 52-year-old rocker before she got married to Keith Urban in June 2006.
The confession came when Kidman was asked about her role alongside Kravitz’s daughter, Zoe in the new HBO series Big Little Lies.
“Well, I knew Zoe because I was engaged to her father,” Kidman was quoted as saying. “It’s all in the family! I love Lenny; he’s a great guy.”
Multiple entertainment sites said that the couple dated briefly in 2003 after she rented a New York apartment that he owned.
Neither has publicly acknowledged an engagement before.
In a 2007 interview with Vanity Fair, Kidman spoke of a broken engagement but never revealed the other party by name.
“I didn’t really want a relationship. I just wanted my kids to have me, and I didn’t feel comfortable having some person in that small hubbub,” she said at the time.
“And then I got engaged to somebody… but it just wasn’t right. I wasn’t ready. We weren’t ready.”
Kidman and Kravtiz remained amicable after their split and they have been spotted greeting each other warmly at various red-carpet events in Hollywood over the years.
