LOS ANGELES, May 19 — Universal has unveiled a fresh (and final) trailer for its upcoming action blockbuster The Mummy, ahead of its release in theatres on June 9.

The film, directed by Alex Kurtzman (Welcome to People), casts Tom Cruise as Nick Morton, a man who suffers a sudden, violent death and then mysterious rebirth only to discover he has been cursed by an ancient evil, played by Sofia Boutella.

The final trailer shows flashes of Morton’s escape and the evil monster, as well as the film’s female lead — British actress Annabelle Wallis — and Dr Jekyll (Russell Crowe), who welcomes the audience to “a new world of gods and monsters”.

The clip also sees Cruises’ character begin his transformation into a monster, with special powers and double pupils in each eye, as Crowe’s Dr Jekyll forewarns that “It takes a monster to defeat a monster” (via Collider). — AFP-Relaxnews
