LOS ANGELES, Oct 21 — The first trailer for Louis CK’s controversial new movie I Love You, Daddy is out.
The comedy, co-written, directed and starring the mastermind behind Louie, is shot entirely in black and white.
The story revolves around a television writer, played by CK, his teenage daughter (Chloe Grace Moretz) and writer-director, played by John Malkovich.
Malkovich plays a lecherous older man, with a history of dating much younger women, and this time, the younger woman is none other than CK’s daughter. This obviously is cause for friction between the two men.
The film had tongues wagging when it debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival for its allusion to filmmaker Woody Allen.
I Love You, Daddy marks CK’s return to directing 16 years after Pootie Tang. It also stars Rose Byrne, Helen Hunt and Charlie Day.
