LOS ANGELES, Sept 23 — Who’d win a fight between cuddly Charlie Day of Monsters University and hard N.W.A. frontman Ice Cube? The result seems a foregone conclusion, but high school comedy Fist Fight is going to tell us exactly how it goes down.
Scheming for a February 2017 release, Fist Fight is a feature film debut for director Richie Keen as well as writers Van Robichaux and Evan Susser.
Nevertheless, there are a clutch of recognisable faces in Fist Fight, which has Ice Cube as the high school teacher with an axe to grind — perhaps even literally — against Charlie Day’s fellow colleague.
Christina Hendricks (Mad Men,) Jillian Bell (Workaholics, 22 Jump Street,) Tracy Morgan (30 Rock) and JoAnna Garcia (The Mindy Project) are among the supporting cast as the school’s entire student population looks forward to a dust-up between fired-up Mr Strickland and wussy Mr Campbell.
Keen directed Charlie Day in TV series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia while the movie’s writers created content for Funny Or Die. Ice Cube has featured prominently in the two Jump Street movies.
The Warner Bros film has been announced for a February 17, 2017 US theatrical debut. — AFP-Relaxnews
