NEW YORK, May 17 ― After getting a launch earlier this month in New York, the new style tome Harper's Bazaar: 150 Years is being feted this Tuesday at Paris's famous concept store Colette where dedicated followers of fashion can pick up their very own copy, signed by US editor-in-chief Glenda Bailey.
To mark the magazine's 150th anniversary in 2017, the new book captures the greats who have shaped the publication over these decades.
The exclusive special edition hardback has a suggested retail price of US$65 (RM280).
The book features the most iconic pieces of work from America's first ever fashion magazine archive: more than 150 photographs and covers and 50 text excerpts, including articles, poems, and works of fiction.
Complete with a chronologically organized layout, the selections illustrate the breadth of creativity and artistry that have proven that Harper's Bazaar is more than just a fashion magazine, despite fierce competition from rival titles.
Glenda Bailey is guesting the event at Paris's one-stop shop for ultra desirable fashion, gadgets and the latest beauty and accessory must-haves.
The colette store is a regular haunt of Bailey who is entering her 16th year at the helm of the monthly, and was awarded an OBE in 2016 for her services to journalism and fashion.
From its beginnings as a broadsheet, Harper's Bazaar has showcased the visions of legendary editors, photographers, and stylists and featured the works of noted writers since 1867.
