AirAsia X to launch direct flights to Jaipur next year
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 6 — AirAsia X will start direct services from here to Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan, India with four-time weekly flights effective Feb 5, 2018.
In a statement, AirAsia X said, it kicks off the route with promotional all-in fares from as low as RM229 for economy seat and RM699 one way for Premium flatbed seats open for bookings on airasia.com for the travel period between Feb 5, 2018 and Nov 21, 2018.
“We hope it will provide better connectivity for business and leisure travellers to travel to Southeast Asian destinations,” AirAsia X’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Kamarudin Meranun said.
India, he said, is a very important market to the airline, and it would continue to expand its services to key Indian cities including the second— and third-tier cities especially those that lacked good connectivity.
AirAsia X is the first low-cost long-haul carrier to fly direct from Kuala Lumpur to Jaipur, which is also known as the “Pink City,” following a successful launch of Bangkok-Jaipur route in September this year operated by its short-haul affiliate, AirAsia Thailand.
“We commend AirAsia for its efforts to provide enhanced links between India and Malaysia, and opening a route to the State of Rajasthan, which is a tourists’ paradise. We are confident these links will benefit the tourists of both countries and open up the potential in the field of tourism and business,” High Commissioner of India to Malaysia, TS Tirumurti said.
Jaipur, pink in colour and pink in vibrancy, is one of most beautiful and magnificent cities of India, he said.
“Apart from being the capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur is also the largest city of the state and is the first planned city of India,” he said. — Bernama
