Argentinian ambassador to Malaysia Manuel Balaguer Salas said Alum was found in Indonesia with her father’s girlfriend yesterday.

“I want, once again, to thank, especially, the Malaysian authorities, the media and the public for all the help and cooperation that they have provided for solving this case.

“This reunion between Alum and her mother would not have been possible without the continuous support from all parties,” he said in a statement.

Salas added that Alum’s 27-year-old mother, Elizabeth Avalos, is now in Indonesia to be reunited with her daughter who was taken away from her last June.

He also said the alleged abductors have been detained.

The Argentinian embassies in both countries are helping mother and daughter return to their home country.

Avalos flew to Malaysia last month and held a news conference where she claimed her daughter was forcefully taken away by her ex-partner, 41-year-old Jorge Gabriel Langone and his current girlfriend and fellow Argentinian Candela Soledad Gutierrez, 35, eight months ago.

According to Avalos, an Argentine court granted her full custody of Alum after she and Langone separated in 2011.

Alum, her father and his girlfriend were said to have been last spotted in Kulai, Johor where the girl was supposedly enrolled in a kindergarten there.
