KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 — Bursa Malaysia was higher at mid-afternoon today, bolstered by gains in trade and services as well as industrial products-related counters.
At 3.05pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,669.03, up 1.46 points from yesterday’s close of 1,667.57.
Losers outpaced gainers by 393 to 304, while 379 counters were unchanged, 583 untraded and 21 others suspended. Turnover stood at 881.55 million shares worth RM820.29 million.
Of the heavyweights, TNB and Maybank each fell two sen to RM14.38 and RM7.69, respectively.
Public Bank rose eight sen to RM19.84, Petronas Chemicals was five sen higher at RM6.86 and IHH Healthcare perked two sen to RM6.45.
The FBM Emas Index increased 3.14 points to 11,807.39 and the FBMT100 Index added 3.84 points to 11,506.87.
The FBM Emas Syariah Index declined 5.10 points to 12,448.96, FBM Ace fell 20.71 points to 5,135.21 and the FBM 70 shed 17.80 points to 13,889.00.
On a sectoral basis, the Finance Index improved 28.88 points to 14,384.64 and the Industrial Index was 2.88 points higher at 3,132.42.
The Plantation Index fell 7.69 points to 7,933.17. — Bernama
