KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 2 — Bursa Malaysia remained mixed at mid-afternoon today in range bound trading, with cautious buying sentiment ahead of the release of the US jobs data.
At 3pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) gained 2.04 points to 1,628.48, from yesterday's close of 1,626.44, after opening 1.07 points higher at 1,627.51.
However, on the broader market, losers led gainers 325 to 285 with 313 counters unchanged, 768 untraded and 20 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 808.78 million shares worth RM770.69 million.
Of the heavyweights, Maybank added six sen to RM7.85, TNB gained eight sen at RM14.06, Petronas Chemicals improved two sen to RM6.88, Sime Darby increased five sen to RM8.15 while Public Bank shed two sen to RM19.62.
Among actives, Hibiscus Petroleum and Green Packet improved half-a-sen each to 30 sen and 27.5 sen, respectively, Wintoni shed half-a-sen to 4.5 sen while KNM Group and Sumatec Resources were flat at 33.5 sen and 5.5 sen, respectively.
The FBM Emas Index improved 4.52 points to 11,395.55, the FBM Emas Shariah Index rose 7.29 points to 11,924.80 and the FBMT100 Index added 4.72 points to 11,129.11.
The FBM Ace slipped 21.53 points to 4,780.28 and the FBM 70 was 28.10 points lower at 13,079.03.
Sectorwise, the Finance Index improved 26.72 points to 14,286.46, the Plantation Index rose 26.83 points to 7,705.05 but the Industrial Index shed 3.34 points to 3,070.80. — Bernama
