KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 14 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were traded mixed at mid-morning as gains in heavyweights led by Maybank provided some support to the key index.
At 11.00am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,738.26, up 0.77-of-a-point or 0.04 per cent from Monday’s close of 1,737.49.
The benchmark index opened 5.78 points higher at 1,743.27.
Losers trounced gainers 335 to 306 while 366 counters remained unchanged with 833 untraded and 20 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 969.08 million shares worth RM512.66 million.
Among heavyweights, Maybank and Tenaga perked eight sen each to RM9.24 and RM14.90, respectively, PetDag rose 30 sen to RM24, Hap Seng advanced nine sen to RM9.43 and MISC was five sen better at RM7.42.
Of the actives, Sumatec gained one sen to six sen, Trive Property and its warrant added half-a-sen each to 10 sen and 3.5 sen, respectively, Berjaya Corporation improved 1.5 sen to 38.5 sen while PUC was half-a-sen lower at 21.5 sen.
Nestle led the list of top gainers, rising RM4.44 to RM93.08, while top loser PMB Technology fell 27 sen to RM4.18.
The FBM Emas Index was up 18.01 points to 12,575.12, the FBMT 100 Index gained 16.90 points to 12,209.20, the FBM Emas Shariah Index rose 21.92 points to 13,034.81 and the FBM 70 jumped 63.95 points to 15,605.99.
The FBM Ace fell 11.88 points to 6,775.10.
Sector-wise, the Industrial Index put on 9.84 points to 3,201.74, the Finance Index increased 43.85 points to 16,224.15 but the Plantation Index was 29.92 points easier at 7,925.74. — Bernama
