KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 — Shares on Bursa Malaysia were lower at mid-morning on profit-taking following the local bourse’s three-day winning streak.
At 11.11am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,668.35, down 1.31 points against yesterday's close of 1,669.66, after opening 5.81 points weaker at 1,663.85 this morning.
Losers led gainers 321 to 263, while 364 counters were unchanged, 742 untraded and 17 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 693.56 million shares worth RM531.62 million.
For the heavyweights, TNB eased two sen to RM14.38, Maybank added seven sen to RM7.67, Public Bank rose 12 sen to RM19.70 and Petronas Chemicals declined four sen to RM6.70.
Among actives, MBSB added one sen to 92.5 sen while Daya Materials and M3 Technologies gained half-a-sen each to seven sen.
The FBM Emas Index lost 8.33 points to 11,790.31, the FBMT100 Index fell 9.21 points to 11,490.42, and the FBM Emas Shariah Index rose 3.5 points to 12,453.92.
The FBM 70 was down 11.86 points to 13,826.71 and the FBM Ace was 51.96 points lower at 5,220.43.
On a sectoral basis, the Industrial Index was 0.81 point better at 3,134.81, the Plantation Index increased 16.04 points to 7,959.18 and the Finance Index declined 42.2 points to 14,263.53. — Bernama
