KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 15 — Bursa Malaysia remained in negative territory at mid-afternoon today on profit taking and losses In selected blue-chips led by Maybank.
At 3.05pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 3.18 points easier at 1,736.40 after opening 0.29 of-a-point firmer at 1,733.90 from Tuesday's close of 1,733.61.
On the broader market, losers thumped gainers by 556 to 240, with 377 counters unchanged, 667 counters untraded and 21 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 1.73 billion shares worth RM1.20 billion.
Maybank suffered the biggest loss among heavyweights, down 10 sen to RM9.24 on profit-taking. The counter closed 18 sen higher at RM9.34 yesterday.
Of the other heavyweights, Maxis fell eight sen to RM5.87, PetDag lost 44 sen to RM23.28, MISC inched down one sen to RM7.30 and IHH was four sen weaker at RM5.66.
Among actives, Trive Property eased half-a-sen to 8.5 sen, Berjaya Corp added one sen to 40.5 sen while Sumatec, Borneo Oil and Hibiscus were flat at six sen, nine sen and 11.5 sen, respectively.
The FBM Emas Index fell 36.80 points to 12,498.67, FBMT 100 Index slipped 31.46 points to 12,142.48, FBM Emas Shariah Index lost 42.03 points to 12,945.27 and the FBM 70 slumped 73.79 points to 15,477.43.
The FBM Ace advanced 30.06 points to 6,708.77.
Sectorwise, the Industrial Index gave up 12.51 points to 3,163.24, Plantation Index was 4.14 points lower at 7,905.68 and the Finance Index dipped 81.70 points to 16,162.26. — Bernama
