KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 ― Bursa Malaysia was lower at mid-morning today on mild profit-taking in heavyweights and blue-chips led by trade and services counters.
At 11.00am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 0.53 of-a-point lower at 1,746.28, from yesterday's close of 1,746.81.
The index opened 0.28 of-a-point easier at 1,746.53.
On the broader market, decliners outpaced gainers by 337 to 263, with 370 counters unchanged, 854 untraded and 20 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 982.58 million shares worth RM489.11 million.
Of the heavyweights, Maybank, Sime Darby, Petronas Chemicals and CIMB Group were one sen higher each to RM9.17, RM9.07, RM7.41 and RM6.22, respectively while Tenaga added two sen to RM14.92.
Public Bank and Axiata fell two sen each to RM20.44 and RM5.42, respectively.
Among the active counters, Sumatec was flat at five sen, Key Alliance fell one sen to 21 sen, Key Asic was 1.5 sen higher at 26 sen and Malayan United rose two sen to 26.5 sen.
The FBM Emas Index was up 2.70 points to 12,601.16 and the FBMT100 Index rose 2.31 points to 12,238.89.
The FBM 70 improved 25.24 points to 15,545.54, FBM Emas Shariah Index was 12.45 points higher to 13,048.55, and the FBM Ace increased 13.59 points to 6,855.75.
On a sectoral basis, the Industrial Index was up 6.02 points to 3,213.1, Finance Index was 4.12 points firmer at 16,244.39, and the Plantation Index rose 6.01 points to 8,029.80. ― Bernama
