Iskandar Puteri deputy police chief DSP Ismail Dollah said in the 11.20pm incident, the driver had eventually caught the thief red-handed after he had been losing loaves of bread more than 10 times since August.

“The victim was in his flat on the third floor when he was told by his neighbour about four men trying to pry open the back door of his truck,” he said in a statement here today.

Ismail said since the driver didn’t see the men, he waited about 30 metres away to witness what actually happened.

“About 10 minutes later, he saw the four men trying to pry open the back door. He gave chase but only managed to apprehend one of them. The rest managed to escape by foot,” he said.

Ismail said the 29-year-old suspect was taken to the Kangkar Pulai police station with the help of neighbours. — Bernama
