KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 — The Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) welcomes the government’s appointment of Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad as its acting chairman.
In a statement today, the commission stated its confidence that the former Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) chairman’s vast experience in various sectors would benefit SPAD in its efforts to transform the country’s land public transport landscape.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak at a news conference today announced the appointment, after FGV in a filing to Bursa Malaysia had earlier on announced Mohd Isa’s resignation as its chairman, effective today.
The plantation company in the filing said Mohd Isa had “ceased as government-appointed director to focus on his personal undertakings”. — Bernama
