Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the state government always adheres to the principles of transparency and accountability and accept all complaints.

“Everybody can see, it is impossible, if there is corruption and power abuse, for Selangor to be at this height now, with higher reserves and strong financial management,” he added.

He was met by reporters after opening the Smart Trak programme on the campaign to reduce the use of plastic bags and polystyrene containers organised by the Klanag Municipal Council (MPK) and ,KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) Sdn Bhd here today.

Mohamed Azmin said this when asked for his response on a report over alleged abuse of public funds by the Selangor government which was lodged by chairman of the Malaysian Coalition of NGOs Datuk Seri Jamal Md Yunos with the MACC yesterday.

Jamal alleged that over RM200 million had been misappropriated from the SMUE.

On today’s event, Mohamed Azmin praised MPK for its effective solid waste management and that the state government had allocated RM45 million this year to KDEBWM for the purpose. ― Bernama
