KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 1 — The search and rescue operation for another Malaysian climber missing on Mount Damavand, Iran since November 20 has been suspended due to weather factors.

Head of the expedition, Rozaimi Mohd Said said the SAR operation to track Ramli Abd Majid, 44, had yet to be conducted since it was halted last Tuesday.

“At present this SAR has been suspended and meetings with the embassy are also stopped,” he told reporters via the WhatsApp application from Tehran, Iran.

Ramli and Syed Redzuan Syed Salim Shatri, 50, were reported missing at the 5,610-metre mountain last November 20 after they separated from the other climbers.

On Monday, the SAR team found the body of Syed Redzuan at the Yakhar Glacier on the snowy mountain.

In the meantime, he said the remains of Syed Redzuan was still in the Iranian capital to undergo various processes, including forensic before being taken back to Malaysia.

Yesterday, Rozaimi said the body of Syed Redzuan was expected to be brought home within the next three to four days. — Bernama
