North Klang police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Yusoff Mamat said the 27-year-old man dubbed the “ball-bearing rapist” for the three ball bearings implanted in his genitals had tried to rape a woman after robbing her following his escape yesterday, New Straits Times reported on its website.

“We are now investigating this too. The suspect was due to be charged in court. We are expected to bring him to court soon,” Mohd Yusoff was quoted saying.

According to the report, the fugitive was first arrested on June 13 after allegedly raping a 34-year-old housewife in Kampung Rantau Panjang in Shah Alam, Selangor.

He had escaped from the toilet of the North Klang police headquarters about 3pm yesterday, by tying his lock-up trousers to the metal grille of the toilet window to prise it open.

Mohd Yusoff said a policeman at the guard post spotted the fugitive and gave chase but was unable to catch the latter who had run into a jungle area.

The wanted man was caught at Section 26, Kampung Baru Hicom Shah Alam at 7am today.

Police said the suspect had changed out of his lock-up attire and managed to break one side of his handcuffs.

The police added that the fugitive had been aided in his escape by a man whom he had hired for RM60 to send him to the village.

“We are in the midst of tracking him down,” Mohd Yusoff was quoted saying of the suspected accomplice.
