He said since the party’s formation, it has not left out any ethnic community.

“This is the struggle that our past leaders have been championing about, from the era of the late Tun Temenggong Jugah, the late Tun Abdul Rahman Yaakub and continued by the present leadership,” he said at the joint opening of the Youth and Women movements 14th Triennial  Delegates Convention at the Borneo  Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here.

“Due to past leaders’ dedication and sincerity, the people continue to support the party,” the chief minister said.

Abang Johari also said the party is strong because it is united.

“That is why we swept all the seats we contested in the last state election,” he said, expressing his confidence that the party will do well in the coming 14th general election.

He said the party will continue to give priority to rural development, especially in building roads, bridges, modern agriculture and education.

“It is our full commitment to change the lives of the rural communities,” he said, stressing that the greatness of the party is measured not by what it is, but by what it has done.

“PBB has contributed a lot to Sarawak and the people and that the young leaders in the party must ensure that the spirit of PBB is always there and they must continue that spirit in our transformation of the state,” he said.

Abang Johari said that PBB will take the lead, with the support of other component parties of Barisan Nasional, in transforming Sarawak into a developed state by 2030.

“This is our aspiration and I am confident that we will be successful,” he said.
