KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 — PAS only rented out the venue for a ceramah by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in Malacca this Sunday and is not part of the event, said its state commissioner Kamarudin Sidek.
Malay daily Sinar Harian quoted Kamarudin as saying that neither he nor his party were otherwise involved in the talk to be held at Kompleks PAS in Jasin.
"We allowed the organisers to rent the place on the basis of unity among Opposition parties, and the state PAS is not involved in any way with the programme.
"The organisers already made requests to rent the place since the beginning of last month but we had imposed several rules to the organiser, if they want to rent the place," Kamarudin was quoted saying.
One of the rules was to not allow any representatives from Part Amanah Negara (Amanah) or DAP to attend.
