Deputy Prime Minister Zahid is also the home minister, and the RoS falls under his purview in the latter capacity.

Malay Mail Online understands that Zahid’s office is expected to give a reply to the attempt later today.

“We have officially submitted our registration application to RoS on July 28, 2017. Since we do not hear anything (except a letter stating that it is under consideration), the presidential council wrote to Zahid asking for a meeting tomorrow at 10 am at KDN Putrajaya,” PH chief secretary Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah told Malay Mail Online.

He said tomorrow’s proposed meeting will be led by PH chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, and attended by Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Lim Guan Eng and Mohamad Sabu.

“We will have a presidential council meeting tomorrow at 12 noon at the Perdana Leadership Foundation… where we will discuss the outcome of the Zahid meeting or if there is no meeting,” Saifuddin added.

PH submitted their application to RoS several months ago and was told to alter their logo before the application was accepted.

The Opposition coalition immediately edited their logo and submitted a new application, but has not heard from the RoS yet.

If approved, the registration would allow PH component parties to contest elections under a unified banner.
