KAJANG, Sept 22 — The mother of 15-year-old Nur Darleen Dazeera Azhar was more than grateful when the girl was found safe after being abducted by two men on motorcycle in front of her house in Bandar Tun Hussein Onn early today.
“Alhamdulillah. I’m so grateful to Allah for saving my daughter,” were the words chanted repeatedly by Zainon Md Zin, 55, as she hugged her sobbing daughter tight as soon as the girl got out of the Proton Wira car belonging to Juliana Jeffrey, 42, who found her and sent her home at 2.20pm.
The Form Three student of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, who was still clad in her school uniform, was reported to have been abducted while waiting for her school van at 7am.
She was found safe seven hours later near a supermarket located three kilometres from her house, believed to have been released by the two men after the story of the abduction went viral in social media.
The family, however, refused to give any statements to the media and left it to the police to investigate the case.
Kajang Police chief ACP Othman Nanyan confirmed the matter and said that the girl had been taken to Kajang Police headquarters to record her statement.
“Details of the case, however, cannot be disclosed as yet,” he said in a statement. — Bernama
