KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 — A man who reportedly hit a foreign car wash worker in the face, breaking his nose, was arrested by cops in Damansara yesterday.
According to The Star Online, the police are in the process of applying for remand. “We have opened an investigation paper under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt," Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Abdul Samah Mat was quoted as saying
The 30-year-old man was earlier on Saturday captured on a closed-circuit television footage as berating and striking the foreign worker, who could be seen holding a washcloth in the front seat of the man’s SUV.
Owner of the car wash, Atie Abdul Hamid, who uploaded the video which has since gone viral, said that the man refused to pay for the car wash and instead demanded RM1,000 in compensation after accusing the worker of dirtying his car.
Atie said the worker was subsequently slapped a second time at another location, and was found bleeding non-stop. Doctors confirmed the worker suffered from a broken nose after he was rushed to the hospital.
