KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 — A 15-year-old Malay girl snatched by two men on a motorcycle right outside her Bandar Tun Hussein Onn house in Kajang, Selangor this morning has been found and returned home.
A passer-by named Juliana Jefri has spotted the secondary schoolgirl walking alone near the Aeon Big supermarket, also in Kajang, and gave her a ride home at about 2.20pm, The Star Online reported this afternoon.
According to the report, a friend to Juliana’s daughter who was given a ride in the car recognised the schoolgirl.
Malay Mail Online is refraining from naming the girl as neither she nor her parents were named in the police report.
However, the girl whose dramatic disappearance at about 7am just as she was boarding her school bus had sparked a viral storm on social media and a police manhunt.
The Kajang district police chief issued a statement earlier today confirming the girl’s father had filed a report saying his daughter had been abducted.
He said police were investigating the incident, but stopped short of categorising it as either an abduction or kidnapping at that time.
He added that the police were looking into the girl’s school attendance records and interviewing her school friends to see if she had a boyfriend.
