KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 9 — A mentally unsound man who targets pedestrians by kicking them in the back before walking away has struck again.
And it seems he targets Bank Negara employees.
This time, he attacked a 34-year-old Bank Negara analyst, who fell after she was kicked while walking down the stairs at a pedestrian bridge linking the central bank building and Jalan Raja Laut.
A closed-circuit television footage circulated on social media showed the suspect behind the woman as she descended the stairs before kicking her in the back and walking off casually at around 1.30pm on Monday.
Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Shaharuddin Abdullah said the victim lodged a report hours after she was kicked by the suspect who was last seen crossing the road towards UOB Bank nearby.
He said investigations showed the suspect was arrested in the same area last year after committing a similar offence.
He added the suspect was not a Bank Negara employee and police were investigating claims that he specifically targeted central bank employees.
Police are currently trying to track down the suspect.
Last year, the 33-year-old man was picked up by police after a video showed him kicking another Bank Negara employee in her back near Sogo. The video went viral in July.
Police also said the suspect was previously detained and charged for trespassing in Bank Negara with a parang.
