KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 ― Issues like cost of living and house ownerships which were the focus points in the assemblies of the three Umno wings show the concern to continue seeking solutions to the problems of the people.
Umno Vice-president, who is performing the duties of deputy president, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the highest management of the party would attend to numerous suggestions thrown by the delegates for scrutiny.
“The cost of living issue stays with the grassroot leaderships and it is trumpeted by the spokesmen of the three wings.
“This shows the concern of the wings who speak of the painful and exhausting struggles involving the cost of living. The care and concern over the issues surely should focus on the target group who should be assisted,” he told a media conference here, today.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also Deputy Prime Minister, prior to this, checked on the proceedings of the assemblies of the three wings in conjunction with the 2016 Umno General Assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC).
On the issues concerning house ownership, Ahmad Zahid said several suggestions aired maybe could be scrutinised by the quarters concerned such as the Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministry and state governments.
“The hike in house prices due to the increase in the prices of construction materials and land, and surely, they (the people) hoped the government is concerned and provide the structure to solve the problem,” he said.
Ahmad Zahid said the three wings also raised the effort towards Umno's preparedness in facing the coming general assembly and to ward off attacks from its political adversaries.
He explained that the attacks on the party must not only be parried but something proactive must be done to ensure it did not erode the confidence of the people towards the party and government. ― Bernama
