Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) aircraft will fly low over Sabah when they take part in an exercise. — Bernama file picRoyal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) aircraft will fly low over Sabah when they take part in an exercise. — Bernama file picKOTA KINABALU, Nov 14 — Members of the public in Sabah have been advised not to worry or be alarmed when they see Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) aircraft fly low in their areas as they were only part of an exercise held from today until Nov 26.

In a statement issued today, the RMAF said the Paradise Series 4/2017 Exercise which was based in Labuan Air Base involved Sabah air space and the waters around it.

“During the exercise, RMAF aircraft will fly low during the day and night in several areas in the Sabah airspace which has been gazetted as locations for the exercise,” the statement said.

Among the RMAF aircraft used for flying low are the SU-30MKM, Hawk, F/A-18D, C130H, KC130, CN235, EC725 and Nuri.

According to the statement, the exercise was to ensure the capabilities and preparedness of the armed forces were always at the best level, especially to safeguard the sovereignty of the nation’s airspace. — Bernama
