Liow Soon Hee, 29, pleaded not guilty to all charges handed down by Magistrate Mohamad Firdaus Sadina Ali.

The first charge was under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt to Lee Weng Poh, 27, at Tokong Kou Ong Yah, Jalan Merdeka in Kampung Baru Ampang on October 27.

The second charge was under Section 353 of the Penal Code for using criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty.

He allegedly committed the offence against 19-year-old Melvin Cheong Mun Khai at Tokong Kou Ong Yah, Jalan Merdeka in Kampung Baru Ampang on October 27.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Nadiah Malek Fauzie requested the court set bail at RM10,000 and RM5,000 with one surety for each charge respectively.

She also requested additional conditions that the accused surrender his passport, report to the police and refrain from contacting the victims or witnesses relating to the case.

The accused’s lawyer, Datuk Geetham Ram, argued that bailable offences should not have additional conditions such as surrendering passports.

The magistrate agreed that the accused should not disturb the witnesses and victims of the case and set bail at RM7,000 and RM4,000 with one surety each for the respective charges.

Liow was further charged separately under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt to 21-year-old Leong Jun Jie and Melvin Cheong Mun Khai at Tokong Kou Ong Yah, Jalan Merdeka in Kampung Baru Ampang on October 27.

The magistrate set bail at RM3,000 with one surety for each charge.

The court set December 14 for mention.
