The club president and Johor princess Tunku Tun Aminah Ibrahim took to its Facebook page today to announce it will pass the full amount to the Penang flood relief fund as pledged last week.

“The prize money for the Johor Darul T’'zim FC (JDT) players has been received by JDT’s Honorary Secretary, Captain Mohd Fahmy Bin Yahya, and the cheque worth RM500,000 will be handed over to the flood relief fund in Penang,” she said in a posting on the club’s Facebook page.

Tunku Tun Aminah had made the pledge on November 6, two days after JDT defeated Kedah 2-0.

Penang was devastated by a torrential rainstorm that flooded 80 per cent of the island state and killed seven people the very same day Johor won the Malaysia Cup.
