SINGAPORE, May 17 — Working professionals have the chance to de-stress with yoga, with the opening of a new boutique yoga school in the Central Business District.
The Yoga School, located on the 39th floor of the OCBC Centre, quietly opened in November last year.
It is celebrating its official launch yesterday.
It offers over 20 classes a week, including Flow classes, Forrest Yoga and Kundalini classes.
There are gentler, alignment-centric classes such as Iyengar, Restorative and Yin classes.
The school also has meditation classes as well.
The 1,606 sq ft school is already expanding, and will open another 1,700 sq ft studio, across from its existing space.
The school has been bringing in teachers for workshops, and hosted Yiannis Mukta Om from New York in March.
Next up will be a June workshop, the Artistry of Asana, led Rocky Heron from Los Angeles.
“The Yoga School was founded as a nucleus for anyone curious or passionate about learning yoga. As with any school, there is the same academic rigour imposed on our classes, workshops and programmes, as well as a careful emphasis on handpicking the best of teachers. At the same time, it was important to make all of this accessible, and to create a space for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike to come together to explore yoga and learn from each other,” said Dawn Chan, founder of The Yoga School. — TODAY
