LONDON, Sept 30 — Model and fashion designer Kate Moss is adding interior designer to her list of credentials after collaborating with design studio Yoo on a retro-glamour luxury home in the Cotswolds, UK.
She lent her creative eye to “The Barnhouse,” part of the luxury second home development The Lakes by Yoo, a partnership between property entrepreneur John Hitchcox and designer Philippe Starck.
The five-bedroom home is said to be inspired by a traditional English novel, with earthy undertones throughout.
Moss worked with West Country-based crasftman David Haddock, who built the dressing room in her London home, to contribute bespoke furnishings, including a TV cabinet featuring a silver thunderbolt paying homage to David Bowie.
More of that rock and roll aesthetic can be seen in the home’s art, with works by Allen Jones, Chris Levine, Damien Hirst and Mit Senoj, as well as Moss’s own collaborations with Jake and Dinos Chapman and Chris Allen.
The goal, says Yoo, was a retro-glamour take on the traditional English home.
Bedrooms feature House of Hackney’s new fabric and wallpaper collection, which reinvents William Morris’s Victorian wallpaper, while the central living space features Talisman sofas and is said to create an intense and moody atmosphere.
The Barnhouse features a double-height reception space, an outdoor deck and a private pool and has an acre of private woodland, all set on a 650-acre rural estate that includes six lakes. Price starts at £2.5 million (RM16.85 million); find out more at www.thelakesbyyoo.com/properties/barnhouse. — AFP/Relaxnews
