NEW YORK, Nov 9 — DKNY has launched its debut line of hybrid smartwatches, and the brand has snapped up model Emily Ratajkowski to front the campaign for the new wearables.
Titled “DKNY Minute”, the collection blends the classic DKNY women’s watch style with hybrid smartwatch technology, offering wearers smartphone notifications, activity tracking and “Play it, snap it, ring it” technology, which lets users control their music, take a photo, or ring their phone.
The watches also offer sleep tracking technology, and come with either silver, gold, or rose gold-tone cases. They are paired with black or white leather straps, or a red quilted strap, and each style is accompanied with a interchangeable quilted pinstripe silicone strap that can be interchanged.
US model, actress and activist Ratajkowski, who was unveiled as the face of the brand’s Fall 2017 campaign back in the summer, is pictured teaming her DKNY Minute timepiece with a cosy fall knit — although an alternative image posted to the star’s Instagram account shows her switching it up by wearing the watch with just a sports bra. According to a statement from DKNY, Ratajkowski “defines what it means to be a woman in the modern world”.
The campaign marks the latest of several big name fashion collaborations for Ratajkowski, who is also the official Fall 2017 muse for French clothing label The Kooples, after teaming up with the brand to design a limited-edition handbag back in July. She also took to the catwalk in September for Bottega Veneta’s Spring/Summer 2018 ready-to-wear show during Milan Fashion Week.
The DKNY Minute hybrid smartwatch line is available on www.dkny.com, and in select boutiques and department stores, priced from US$155 (RM655) to US$175. — AFP-Relaxnews
