LONDON, Dec 17 — It might look normal — but this shoe has a secret.
A hidden compartment conceals the gadgets and gizmos that could help in emergencies — from losing your jacket to being kidnapped.
Created by shoemaker Oliver Sweeney and luxury launches website, VeryFirstTo — the Secret Shoe is a must-have for any budding James Bond.
VeryFirstTo founder Marcel Knobil said, “We recognise that these shoes have a massive amount of ‘talkability’ around them but they are not a gimmick. They are authentic, very handsome, very comfortable shoes which also contain very useful gadgets that could be indispensable if you are in trouble.”
Customers can choose six gadgets — three in each shoe — from a selection of twelve.
Including the world’s smallest mobile phone, a GPS tracker and even a miniature HD video camera.
Oliver Sweeney Chief Executive and ‘Cobbler-in-Chief’ said, “One of the original concepts was ‘what happens if you go out in the evening and you lose your jacket and it’s got everything in?’ Well, you can build a mini phone into it. You can build many gadgets in there which I think give you that ability and then it sort of evolved and became the idea of something which was the secret agent, urban survival thing. Just really good fun.”
The laces are made from Kevlar and can cut through plastic, so you’ll be unshaken and unstirred should you ever find yourself zip-tied.
Knobil added, “If you thought your husband or your brother or son had everything, you now know that they don’t. This is something that you will find nowhere in the world. It’s the first of its nature and we know that early adopters will relish the opportunity to wear these.”
It could be the perfect Christmas gift to buy the spy who loves you. — Reuters
