NEW YORK, Nov 15 — The RAM 1500 Rebel Mojave Sand is a new special edition take on the iconic pickup truck and will be limited to just 1500 examples when it goes on sale in December.
As one of the most popular vehicles on US roads, alongside the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado, Ram is constantly tinkering with the pickup’s formula to ensure that no matter how many it sells, those that want something a bit different won’t be disappointed.
The latest attempt to shake things up is the RAM 1500 Rebel Mojave Sand, which offers a unique exterior paint finish (it won’t be available on other Ram pickups) plus a completely black interior — even the bezels on the doors and centre console have been finished in an anodised black tone.
The only contrasting tones come from grey stitching on the dashboard and the seats and grey logos on the floor mats.
Outside there are also a number of black accents including twin hood stripes and radiator grille surround.
Owners will also be able to choose from a V6 or V8 powerplant, and two-wheel or four-wheel drive when the model goes on sale from December with prices starting at US$45,590 (RM197,340).
But as well as launching an entirely new limited edition, Ram is also bringing back an existing model due to popular demand — the Ignition Orange Sport.
Guaranteed to stand out in a crowd, it comes with a monochromatic orange exterior paint finish that extends to the vehicle’s grille, plus a racing-inspired, vented performance hood.
Inside there is copper-coloured accent stitching on the seats and trim panels and orange accents across the dashboard. And while the Mojave Sand limited edition is available in all of the current Rebel configurations each of the US$43,740 RAM 1500 Ignition Orange Sport editions come with just one engine choice — a 5.7-litre, 395hp HEMI V8.
However, like all Ram 1500 Rebel pickups, both of these special editions will come with 33-inch all terrain tires, Bilstein shock absorbers and proper skid plates as standard equipment. — AFP-Relaxnews
